GENERAL COMMENTS ABOUT THE RESORT

Umkomaas is a small village on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast situated
about fifty kilometres to the south of Durban.
The village is at the mouth of the Mkomazi River, from which it gets its
name. Each year a marathon canoe race is held on the river.
Umkomaas is a mecca for scuba divers and water sports enthusiasts alike.
The main scuba diving area, Aliwal Shoal, is consistently rated one of the
top ten diving sites in the world.
The beach is rocky and a popular place for anglers. There is a tidal pool
which is floodlit at night.
We are conveniently situated to all shops, restaurants, beaches and golf
courses. This is a home away from home for holidaymakers, business
people, golfers and of course scuba divers wanting to dive the word
renowned Aliwal Shoal or see Tiger Sharks.

At Ocean View Guest Lodge you will be spoiled from the time of your arrival, to your departure by the Host and the Chef, who is available to prepare all your meals.With the introduction of our FunChef Accommodation we have finally provided the entire family with a real holiday experience, including Mom. Besides providing all the great facilities that you have come to expect from RCI resorts, our FunChef Accommodation will spoil you with its special focus on service, giving you more time for lazing away and relaxation. This unique semi-self-catering option means that while you can enjoy the usual benefits of self-catering, you can also choose to either have your meals prepared for you by our private chef or, should the fancy grab you, cook yourself in our fully equipped kitchen.

UNIT FACILITIES

- We offer 6 en-suite rooms all finished with high quality fittings. We
   currently have 2 en-suite family rooms with two bedrooms each and 4 ensuite
   rooms that can be made up either as doubles or twins.
- The rooms are decorated in neutral colours to create a relaxing
   atmosphere with emphasis on comfort.
- All rooms open directly onto the patio area where seating is provided to
   allow a quiet space, to be enjoyed by all, for sitting back and relaxing.
- Each room is equipped with ceiling fans, bar fridges, satellite TV and
   tea/coffee making facilities. Movie facilities in the main lounge.
- Ample secure parking is provided.
- A Chef is on hand to prepare all your meals - just ask us and we'll do our
   best to ensure your requests are catered for.
- We are able to take advantage of the sub-tropical climate by dining in the
   enclosed patio area with a splendid view over the garden, swimming pool
   and sea.
- Pool loungers are provided. Sit by the pool and soak up the Durban
   sunshine.

From Airport: Go along N2 Highway South. Take Umkomaas off-ramp and turn left into Maclean Street then right into Robinson Street. Then turn left into Barrow Street and Right into Bard Street - we are the yellow complex.
