African Conservation Trust (ACT) is a Trust created with the following intention and vision:

    • In general, to support and/or establish viable business ventures which conserve, rescue and/or re-establish the health and diversity of animal and plant life.
    • Specifically, to initiate and manage animal breeding programs.
    • To establish and/or support animal welfare centers for the rescue, nurturing and/or reintroduction of orphaned or injured animals to the wild.
    • To partake in exchange programs with similar organizations in order to continuously educate and sustain interest in animal wildlife centers.
    • To encourage the public to visit and become involved with registered projects.
    • To encourage the public to become involved with adoption or other surrogate projects.
    • To educate and introduce the young and the old to a humane and natural approach to animal welfare.
    • To support and/or initiate projects which have the purpose of conserving, rescuing and/or re-establishing the health and diversity of animal and plant life.

Beneficiaries

The African Conservation Trust (ACT) collects funds to promote the conservation of wildlife as per the vision above. These funds are donated to beneficiaries that have the same principles and vision such as:

This centre is a registered rehabilitation centre that rehabilitate and re-introduce animals to areas where their numbers have decreased to dangerously low levels. A good example is the recent re-introduction of Serval and Civet to the Groot Marico area.

This is a new centre which was established in a historically intensitive small animal farming area with little regard for smaller cat and game species.
